Today is special. It’s National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day! No, I’m not kidding, they do have a special day for that! I won’t be the one complaining since I absolutely love peanut butter and I’ll use any excuse to eat even more peanut butter. To celebrate this glorious day, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite peanut butter treats from my favorite food blogs. If you’re on a strict low cal diet or trying to go sugar-free, please look away, those are not for you. In my daily life, I try to apply the 80/20 diet rule. The idea is to eat 80% wholesome, nutritious and good-for-you food and indulge 20% of treats. So, yes those recipes are not all healthy but 1. they are so damn good 2. it won’t hurt you as long as you don’t eat the whole batch. (That’s a different story). If you don’t trust yourself, just make sure you have some family/friends/neighbors around. I personally have zero self control (but I’m working on it!) so my trick is to hide the cookie jar very high and keep it out of my sight, and have Solal around! Have a sweet weekend lovelies
Alright, so let’s get started with the staple ingredient aka Mister Peanut Butter. Make it yourself, it’s so much better and healthier! And honestly, it super easy: one ingredient + a food processor and you’re done.
And now, let the party begin!
First are those Peanut Butter Snickers Cookies, from Two Peas & Their Pod. Clearly, cookies are Maria’s specialty. The girl knows what she’s doing. Head to her cookies recipe list and drool. Her recipes never fails.
I guess you all know Gina, from SkinnyTaste. She’s famous for her skinny recipes that taste absolutely amazing. I can honestly say that several of her recipes are on my meal planning each week. Her Skinny No-Bake Peanut Butter Pie is loaded with PB but gentle with your waistline. What are you waiting for?
Sally’s blog, Sally’s Baking Addiction, is a gold mine. If you’re looking for a perfect decadent treat -cookies, brownies, cupcakes…-look no further, she has one perfectly fitted for you. I have her Perfect Chocolate Chips Cookies baking in the oven right now. They look amazing, I can’t wait to
devour sample them. Just like me, Sally is obsessed with peanut butter. She even wrote a post dedicated to her love for peanut butter, including 45+ of her PB based treat recipes. How amazing is this?! My favorites are:
Soft-Baked Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Cookies. Aren’t they super cute?
Next is Lindsay from Pinch of Yum and her Peanut Butter Oreo Blondies. Lindsay loves dessert, and you call definitively tell. She’s the one who introduced me to the concept of adding Oreo in, like, every dessert. Starting with this perfect brownies recipe. Those Blondies are no exception to the rule: Oreo + PB = delicious treat.
PS: every month, Lindsay and Bjork (her husband) publish a detailed report on how they make money with their blog. Super helpful and motivating if you’re a food blogger!
Do you know Jessica from How Sweet It Is? She’s the funniest kid around the block. Seriously, if not for her creative and amazing recipes, check her blog for a good laugh. Most of her creations are dessert/treat but she also has super good savory recipes. Her Creamy Feta Dip for instance is deeeelicious. But hey, this a PB-oriented post, so let’s focus.
The last recipe is from my blog. I’m not self-declaring my blog fabulous but I feel this post wouldn’t be complete without it. These Chocolate Covered Frozen Banana and Peanut Butter Bites are the most popular recipe on Not Enough Cinnamon. They’re easy, and chocolate + banana + peanut better is the best combination ever. I’m sure you’ll all agree.
Now, run to the kitchen and bake all weekend long!
